UBC Triathlon 2013… 4th year!

Well time goes by pretty quick. It feels like it was only yesterday that I did my first triathlon at UBC in 2010. It has been 4 years and looking back I have achieved some pretty amazing things and have met some great people along the way.

Coming off of a long season last year I knew my number one priority was the swim. The lack of technique coaching had make it difficult to get good times on the swims and it was typically a struggle to get through the swim and on the bike. In some cases I was so tired swimming that the first part of the bike I had to spend recovering (UBC 2012!)

Anyways after only a two months of master swim classes I can say it has been one of the best decisions I have made in my swimming. An improvement of over 12 minutes in over 2 months is certainly a good proof of that and there is much to come.

The race was executed very well and I had personal best times in all three disciplines: swim, bike, and the run. It is not bad for the first race of the season in March and looks like I am going to have a great season ahead of me!

In addition thank you to David for the great photography and the support. Last and definitely not least, thank you to my amazing coach, Mark Bates, for making sure I am pushing myself day to day and keeping me from injuring myself!
